Sour Cream Cookies Recipe
Here is what you need to make this easy and delicious recipe.

Cookie Ingredients:
- ½ c unsalted butter, softened
- 2 c sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 t vanilla
- ⅔ c sour cream
- ½ t baking soda
- 3 t baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 4 c flour
Frosting Ingredients:
- ½ c unsalted butter, softened
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 T milk
- 2 ½ c powdered sugar
- Sprinkles, to decorate – optional
Directions:
For this sour cream cookies recipe, you will want to preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Line your baking sheet(s) with parchment and set aside to use in a few minutes.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the sugar and softened butter.
Use your mixer to cream the mixture together until smooth.
Add in the eggs, vanilla and sour cream.
Next, add in the baking soda, powder, salt and flour.
Mix on low speed until combined. Stop the machine and then scrape down the sides often to make sure all of the ingredients are blended.
Mix everything until well combined.
Use a small ice cream scoop or teaspoon to measure out the dough.
Place on the prepared baking sheets with parchment at least 2 inches apart.
Bake your cookies in your preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are slightly browned.
Allow all of your cookies to cool completely before decorating.
For the frosting for this sour cream cookies recipe, in the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the softened butter, vanilla, milk and powdered sugar.
Mix on low speed until smooth.
Bump up the speed and mix on medium for an additional minute or until fluffy. Scrape down the sides and mix again.
Transfer the frosting to a piping bag.
Once the cookies are cool, pipe a spiral of frosting on each one. Decorate with sprinkles, if desired.
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 3 months.
