Wood Wreath for Winter and the Holidays
Here is how to make this project!
Supplies:
- ilauke Wood Slices for Crafts 16Pcs (or another 3.5”-4” brand of wood slices)
- Hot Glue gun/ gluesticks
- 14 inch wire wreath form from dollar store
- 1 package of pine pieces from dollar store
- 1 package of large red berries from dollar store
- Large Christmas dollar store bow*
- Lambs Ear floral pieces**
*Pictured in the supplies photo is black and white ribbon. This ribbon wasn’t wired enough to make a bow, so red and black pre-made bow from the dollar store was used instead. If you make your own bow with ribbon, you may want a zip tie or two to attach the bow.
** The green leaves lamb’s ear greenery came from Walmart. You can also use this greenery in this star wreath.
Instructions:
To get started, layout the wood pieces on your wreath form to see how they will fit.
This will give you the opportunity to arrange them and move them around as you desire.
After you know where you want to place the wood slices, you will want to add hot glue to the wire wreath form where you want to place the wood slices.
Place the wood slice on top of the glue one at a time, pressing on it firmly so that it adheres to the frame.
Repeat this until you have completely covered the wreath with slices of wood.
On this wreath, we left a little bit of space to the left and right of the bottom wood slice.
This empty space will be covered by the bow and greenery.
If you choose to do so, you can add slices in this empty space, or save the extra wood slices for another project.
After all of the wood is glued into place, you will want to add your greenery.
Before you glue anything into place on your wood wreath, lay out the greenery into the positions you like to determine how much you want.
After you have it positioned as you like, then you can glue it into place.
You can then use ribbon to make a bow, or use a pre-made bow (this one came from the dollar store).
The pre-made bow had a twist tie on it. That was used to secure the bow to the wreath form and to secure it into place.
When hanging and displaying this wreath, I would recommend only displaying indoors or somewhere safe from the elements due to the wood in the craft project.
You can use an inexpensive wreath hanger to display.
