If the Grinch is a holiday favorite at your house, you’ll want to make this cute Christmas Grinch craft for kids. Here is how to make it!
The Grinch is one of the most popular guys during the holidays, and is almost as loved as the big guy in the red suit himself.
Whether your family loves the animated The Grinch Who Stole Christmas or the live action version, these beloved classic movies and book are a holiday must for many families.
I’ve learned that so many of you love the green guy, I’ve been adding some fun Grinch inspired posts to Two Kids and a Coupon, including these new Grinch Brownies.
A new reader favorite are also these red velvet Grinch Oreo balls.
I also wanted to add in a fun Grinch inspired craft project that your family can make this holiday season.
Using a paper cup, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and a little bit of paint, this cute craft is a fun way to celebrate one of the holiday season’s favorite films.
Paper Cup Grinch Craft for Kids
Here is how to make this project with your little Who’s.
- Felt paper (Red and green)
- Scissors
- Googly eyes
- Craft Glue
- Green paint
- Paint brush
- Pipe cleaners
- Cotton balls
- Paper cup
To get started, you will want to paint the paper cup green. Make sure to cover the whole paper cup and to let it dry before going on to the next step. If needed, add a second coat to make the cup the desired color of green.
If you prefer (and have enough green felt paper), you can cut and glue a piece of green felt to the cup to make the Grinch’s face.
After the paint is dry for your Grinch craft, use a piece of the red felt paper and make his hat by forming it around the cup and securing with glue.
Form the Grinch’s hat into the cone and bend slightly, scrunching up the top into a point.
Use cotton or cotton balls to add a trim on the hat, both at the top and where it connects to the head.
Now that your hat is formed, you’re going to attach the Grinch’s face.
Using glue, attach two googly eyes.

Cut out his nose and ears from the green felt paper.
Glue the pieces onto your cup and choose a green pipecleaner or two for the final touch.
Cut a small piece of pipccleaner for the smile and bend another piece for the eyebrows and glue into place.
Allow your Grinch to dry before putting on display.
