Have the holidays begun for your family yet? We had our first family gathering this weekend and they’ll continue on through the new year. Because our schedule this time of year tends to get rather full, I’m always on the lookout for new treats to bring to our group dinners that everyone can enjoy. Appetizers are always a hit because they can help stave off hungry little tummies and hangry relatives lurking in the kitchen while we wait for everyone to arrive and everything to be finished cooking. These simple bacon appetizers are quick and easy, and can even be made while you have guests waiting for that turkey to finish. Here’s how to make them.
Bacon Pecan Dates Appetizer Ingredients
- 6 slices of bacon
- 1 bag of Sunsweet Dates
- 4 tablespoons pecan cream cheese
- decorative picks
- parchment paper

Bacon Pecan Dates Appetizer Instructions

Layer pan with parchment paper and place bacon on top.

Preheat your oven to 400 and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Watch it so it doesn’t get too crispy or burnt. Remove from oven and let cool.

Cut bacon in half. Put cream cheese on the date and wrap the date with bacon. Stick pick through to hold together.

This bacon pecan dates appetizer makes about 12 to 14 pieces. They disappear quickly, so for big appetites or big crowds, you may want to double or triple the recipe. Look for Sunsweet Dates at all major retailers.
