How to Make a Fairy Garden Outdoors
Create a special home for your garden fairy by designing and planting a simple space that will bring whimsy to life. Although fairy gardens are not exclusive to pots, they do tend to be easier to create when you have a large container to hold them.
If no pot is available, creating one near the base of a sturdy tree is also an option. For now, let’s look at the best way to design a fairy garden in a large container.

Choose a Theme
Begin by deciding upon a theme. If your child is helping, ask him or her what they image the fairy’s house to be like. Let their creativity soar and implement their ideas in the design. After all, there is nothing better than a child’s perspective on a fairy garden!

Pick a Container and Plants
Next, acquire a large pot, soil, and some plant life to go in it. Tall ferns or grasses are ideal for the back of the pot to give the fairy shelter, while bright green moss is a nice touch for under your handmade twig bench.
Place the soil in the pot and then arrange the plants as desired. You might also want to add some glass stones or shiny rocks for your garden fairy to admire.

Accessorize
Accessorize with a fairy bench or a small twig house. You can make your own by lashing small twigs together or purchase pre-made ones to decorate the space.
Create a reflecting pool by burying a small bowl to the rim and filling it with a small amount of water. Place the bench beside it and you have the perfect spot for your fairy to rest.

If you’d rather have a year-round, indoor fairy garden, opt for houseplants instead of those meant to be outdoors. With a little bit of creativity and patience, you can have the most adorable fairy garden on the block!
