When you’re on the go and travel as much as we do, it can be tough enough keeping up with the needs for a family of four. Throw in an illness or prescriptions and it can become downright complicated. We have to travel a great deal here at Two Kids and a Coupon. My stepdaughter lives in another state, and our extended family also lives several hours away. This means we’re constantly on the road — nearly every weekend, sometimes more. Our kids are seasoned road warriors in both sickness and in health, but as the mom and the one in charge of keeping everyone healthy, it can be tough to keep track of everyone’s prescription history and refill reminders when we’re always on the road.
My husband, step-daughter and I all three regularly take prescription medication and traveling often means we frequently have to refill them when we’re away from home. Fortunately for us, Walgreens is always available wherever our travels take us and they have our prescription history and can help us with medication refills when we are on the road. And when new health circumstances occur or we have questions, Walgreens representatives are always available for a Pharmacy Chat online or you can chat with a pharmacist in store.
The Walgreens.com website has a convenient Prescription Management tool that makes it easy to manage medications for everyone in your family no matter where you’re at and even while you’re on the go. From this tool I can check the status of refills and even arrange to pick up refills at a different location if we’re on the road.
This weekend we headed to a Walgreens store while on the road to visit and to get advice from our local pharmacist. While we didn’t need prescription refills on this trip, I’ve been down and out with a killer cold and congestion with about a week now and wanted a recommendation for something to try to help with the symptoms, that would also be safe to take with my prescription medications. With so many different products it can be tough to know which one to take, and I’m always concerned about side effects.
My shopping assistant while very cute, was far more concerned about obtaining snacks for the road trip home than making mom feel better.
Fortunately Walgreens always has amazing pharmacists on hand like this guy (who even let me take his picture for this post), that are more than happy to talk to you about your questions, concerns, and to make sure you understand everything about your prescription medication, or anything over the counter you might be taking as well.
We’re getting ready to move to another city several hours away and I know Walgreens will be able to make the transition easier for us from a health standpoint and make managing our medications easier.
