It’s officially Spring, and many of us spent today celebrating the season this weekend with Easter Egg hunts, bunnies, candy, baskets and other fun. Our family is thrilled that warmer weather is finally arrived here in Iowa, and I admit that due to the brutal winter we’ve had, we haven’t done a great job the last few months at getting exercise and moving. I know I’ve don’t particularly bad this winter at getting exercise and keeping in shape and I’m ready to start focusing on eating better, getting outdoors more and getting up and getting active so that I can start working on losing weight again and take off the few pounds that I gained over the winter. We’ve finally got some good weather here in our forecast, so it was great timing that we were asked to go and check out the Steps with Balance Rewards program at Walgreens.
We were traveling this weekend home from Grandma’s house where we spend the weekend for Easter, however after a busy weekend with too many treats and snacks, I knew this was a great reason to start again and get my diet back on track on Monday. So we made a stop into Walgreens on our voyage home to buy some healthy snacks to help me eat better this week and to get me registered for Walgreens Steps With Balance Rewards program where you can earn discounts at Walgreens for walking, running and weighing in. So with the help of my blogging shopping assistants, we hit the closest Walgreens we could find.
Information on Balance Rewards is everywhere in store at Walgreens. If you’re a Walgreens shopper and you’re not part of this program — you’re definitely missing out! We’ve earned some super big savings since this program launched and the Steps With Balance Rewards Program doesn’t even require you to come into the store to earn savings!
Just register for the program and record your exercise and you’ll earn points that you can redeem towards savings that you can redeem during future savings trips at Walgreens. If you’re not a Balance Rewards member, you can sign up for minutes in store for both the rewards program as well as for the Steps program. They also have a handy app to help you manage your points.
I was already a member of the Balance Rewards program, so the Walgreens store manager recommended that I join the Steps program online, which I did when I got home. It took less than a couple minutes and was quick and easy. I’ll be recording the miles we walk on our evening walks and hopefully we’ll be able to rack up some amazing savings as we all have fun getting in shape and enjoying spring weather together walking and riding bikes together.
While we are at Walgreens we also got some healthy snacks to help swap out some of our unhealthy junk food options and eat a little better this week. One of my weaknesses is soda and one of my shopping assistants reminded me to grab some bottled water to drink instead.
Our family had fun on our Walgreens Balance Rewards Shopping Exercise, and we all have a little extra motivation to eat a little healthier this week and to exercise a little more. To check out our entire shopping trip, be sure to visit our Google Album here.
