Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and like many of you, I’ve been searching out some fun treats to make for my little Valentines this year. Since I’ll be out of town on Valentine’s Day this year attending a movie premiere for Oz the Great and Powerful, we’ve been celebrating the holiday a little early here at the 2 Kids and a Coupon house, and I’ve also been making ahead some special treats to leave behind to surprise my little valentines while I’m out of town.
Over the last few months, many of you have been reading about our cooking adventures with Great Value products from Walmart. This has been a great experience for us, since as a working mom of 2 who has kids, a full time job, a husband, a house and a blog, I don’t have a ton of extra time to spend in the kitchen. However I LOVE baking and making tasty treats for our own family and my extended family to enjoy at our gatherings. My kids also have gotten my love of baking and love to help out in the kitchen. We’ve had a lot of fun shopping for and making up these special recipes and for February our assignment was to head to Walmart and purchase Great Value refrigerated cookie dough and pastry dough.
We’ve had a lot of fun (and made some big messes!) with our projects but we think we’ve got some fun ideas that you might want to try out with your valentines.
