#Food Review – Indulging Without the Guilt w/ the Great Taste of @TheSkinnyCow

So we’re 2 full months in 2013, how are your New Year’s resolutions going?  I admit I haven’t exactly done a great job of sticking to mine and now that our crazy schedule has gotten a little calmer, I’m trying hard again to eat right and work on losing weight.

One of my tough challenges on weight loss always is when it comes to dessert and when this mom needs chocolate, this mom NEEDS chocolate. It’s tough to find tasty and low calorie sweet treats when you’re trying to stick to a diet, so it was great timing that I was recently invited to check out some of the delicious and low calorie frozen treats from Skinny Cow.  Never one to turn down the chance to try ice cream for any reason, we headed to our local Walmart to check to the selection.

While I knew that Skinny Cow had frozen treats as well as chocolate candy products, I had no idea they had such a big selection!  There was a huge variety even at our little small town Walmart and we of course had to to try nearly everyone we could find because it was way too hard to choose just one or two. Here are some of their flavors.

Chocolate w/ Fudge Cones - Low-fat chocolate ice cream scooped on a sugar cone and topped with rich fudge – and a chocolatey chunk in every last bite. These are great when you want a tasty chocolate fix.

Oh Fudge Nuts Cones – Low-fat vanilla ice cream scooped on a chocolatey-lined sugar cone, topped off with rich fudge and crunchy peanuts. These were my favorite and I’ve already bought them again since for a great late night blogging treat.

Vanilla Chocolate Combo Sandwiches - A collection of low-fat vanilla and low-fat chocolate ice cream sandwiches made with chocolatey wafers. Ice cream sandwiches so good even my husband (who refuses to touch anything “diet”) will hog the whole box.

Best of Both Swirleds - Low-fat chocolate and vanilla ice cream swirled together and scooped between rich chocolate and vanilla wafers. These are great for when you can’t decide between vanilla and chocolate and have decided you MUST have them both, LOL.

Mmmmocha Truffle Bar - Creamy low-fat mocha ice cream drizzled all over with chocolatey ribbons. I’m a sucker for anything mocha and this bar definitely doesn’t disappoint. Very tasty!

It took us a couple weeks to thoroughly try out  all the different flavors and we enjoyed every bite. I even found the kids and my husband raiding them when I was away on a blogging trip last week.  You’d never know that they’re low calorie, and for those of you doing Weight Watchers, they’re only a couple points so you don’t have feel guilty about enjoying a treat.

I have eaten Skinny Cow frozen treats and I agree with you, they are yummy. They don’t taste like they are low fat. I’m trying to watch what I eat but I find it difficult to eliminate chocolate so these are a nice treat.
