Hollywood here I come! If you heard me screaming all the way from Iowa last night, there was a good reason!  Courtesy of the fine folks at Disney, I just received an invitation that I’ll be attending the upcoming movie premiere of Oz the Great and Powerful in a few weeks in Los Angeles. I’ll be walking the red carpet with James Franco , Mila Kunis and the other stars from the film and this mom who lives most of the time in jeans and yoga pants definitely has some serious shopping to do before I attend a star-studded event with lots of cameras and paparazzi.

If you’ve been reading 2 Kids and a Coupon for a while you know we take movies pretty seriously. My husband and I are HUGE movie nuts who even got married at a movie theater, and we’ve passed this love of movies along to our kids. I never dreamed that I’d someday have the opportunity to attend actual premieres. Oz the Great and Powerful has been on my must see list for the year. I grew up as a huge Wizard of Oz fan, so this is a pretty exciting opportunity.  Last spring it was an amazing experience to attend the Tribeca Film Festival with the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and the many stars from Marvel’s the Avenger’s and I can’t wait to do it again!

This is my second opportunity to attend this type of event and I know from past experience there’s lots to do in the couple quick weeks until the event. Since shopping options in my little town are pretty much a grocery and farm supply store I’ll be taking my search online not only for a dress, but for new make-up and hair and beauty products as well. A new cut and color is in order, as well as some great new hair products to help tame my shoulder length, thick curls seem to have a mind of their own. A trip to the salon may be in order to make my hair behave as well. If time permits I may try to make an appointment at the Devachan Salon to help me get ready for the big night!
