@NielsenMassey #HolidayGiftGuide #Food Review: Baking in the Holidays w/ Nielsen-Massey Vanillas

What’s your favorite thing to bake at the holidays? For me, that question is tough to answer. While I don’t usually eat it myself, I love to bake about anything and everything for others and this week I’ll be busy in the kitchen baking treats for our family, friends and upcoming gatherings. I think part of it is the memories of Christmases past, part of it is the wonderful smell and part it are the wonderful goodies I’m preparing for our family.
When it comes to baking, one of my must haves is always a great vanilla or extract. A quality one can make such a big difference in a recipe over a generic brand and it’s always one of the ingredients that I can always taste the difference in when trying baked goods. So needless to say I was thrilled when I was recently offered the opportunity to review Nielsen-Massey Vanillas. Just in case you haven’t heard about them, here’s a description of what they have to offer.

The delightful aroma of the kitchen during the holidays – with smells of cinnamon, peppermint, chocolate and vanilla – is a scent that many associate with long lived memories. The holiday season is a perfect time to create flavorful memories with family and loved ones. Throughout its more than 100 year history, Nielsen-Massey Vanillas has earned its reputation as a manufacturer of the finest vanilla and pure flavor products in the world. This year, foodies can bake, cook and gift products such as Peppermint Extract, Chocolate Extract and Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste. The vanilla bean paste is made with Nielsen-Massey’s famous Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract with the addition of real seeds from the vanilla pod, combined in a slightly viscous base. It is used whenever the distinctive look of vanilla seeds is desired.

I’ve been using these Nielsen-Massey Vanillas in some of my early baking projects and the results have been wonderful. I received a bottle of vanilla extract and peppermint extract and they’ve made for some great holiday treats. I can’t wait to use them some more in the rest of my holiday baking and will definitely be picking them up again at the store again in the near future. Watch for my recipes using these products very soon!
