Many of you have been reading the last few months about my weight loss journey with Nutrisystem. I’ve lost 50 pounds since December and am feeling great. While I’m happy with my weight loss, I still have a long ways to go and I know many of you are working on weight loss yourselves. If you’re thinking about pursuing a weight loss program, here are a few options you may consider.
Counting Carbs or Calories
The most old fashioned is also the most popular when it comes to weight loss. Keeping track of your carbs and calories, watching what you eat and controlling your portions is a great way to go, especially on a budget. For best results keep a weight loss journal to help you document what you eat and to keep track of your success.
If you’re having trouble with planning your meals and portions, a diet option like Medifast, Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig might before you. These plans provide food delivered to your door, and take a lot of the guess work out of dieting. I get a box of food every month from Nutrisystem with breakfasts, lunch and dinner, and then supplement with fresh fruits, veggies, milk and protein.
Whether it’s acai berries, mangosteen juice or some other new item or trend, there are lots of unique food items that may help in your battle with the bulge. Just do your research on what’s right for you and talk to your doctor for their professional recommendations.
If you have a large amount to lose, surgery may also be an option depending on your weight and your health. Talk to your doctor to see if you qualify and to your health insurance to see if it is covered.
