We’re excited to participate in another Food Fun Hop! This is a fun blog hop with lots of tasty recipes and chances to win! This month’s event is hosted by Shy Babies & Little Inspiration and sponsored by Nature Box.
NatureBox makes it easy to eat healthier with a selection of hand picked healthy snacks delivered straight to your door. Each month’s selection features 4-6 healthy snacks with several servings of new and different healthy and delicious snacks for you to enjoy. We received the above snack pack to review and really enjoyed it! It was great to have healthy treats arrive at our door, and I decided to use sunflower seeds to make honey wheat bread and rolls for this month’s hop.
This bread is a really thick hearty bread that is great with soups, salads and (my favorite) peanut butter or peanut butter & Nutella! Here’s how to make it:
2 cups white flour
2 cups wheat flour
1 cup roasted & salted sunflower seeds (from the NatureBox, but can be any brand)
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
3 tablespoons melted butter
Spray butter (not to grease the pan, but to finish off) If you don’t have it, use a stick of butter
Wisk together dry ingredients, then mix together with additional ingredients except for the spray butter.Batter will be thick and lumpy.
For bread pour into 2 lightly greased loaf pans, for rolls, use a greased ice cream scoop and bake at 350 or until golden brown. Remove from pans and spray lightly with a butter spray (I like I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter) to keep it soft and to add extra flavor. If you don’t have the spray, use a stick of butter on the top of the bread or rolls instead. Still tastes great and just a few more calories.
