Instead of using pricey fabric softener, I use just a half ounce or so of white vinegar – it gets the clothes odor free and cuts down on static cling too! In the winter months when that isn’t enough, a ball of aluminum foil in the dryer takes care of any remaining electrical charges.

I used to make my own laundry detergent, but I have gotten lazy. I recycle old tooth brushes for cleaning dishes before I place them in the dishwasher, for cleaning the edges of floor boards, and cleaning cars!

I use to make my own detergent but now I’m lazy. I like to buy green cleaning stuff does that count?
So what are my tips? Our family has installed water efficient shower heads and toilets, and I’ve been using steam cleaning on my hardwood floors instead of chemicals. It works great and it much safer for my family!
